About Wrens, GA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Wrens is a small city found in Jefferson County, Georgia, and as of 2010 approximately 2,200 people called the community home. This city if found about 30 miles south of Augusta, Georgia via U.S. Route 1. This community was named for early settler John Wren, and it got its start with the creation of a suction gin, flour mill, and woodworking factory. Today, Wrens boasts the largest farm of gourds east of the Mississippi. Notable residents have included author Erskine Caldwell, NFL player Fernando Velasco, and popular landscape architect Bruce Kelly.
Despite being a small community, Wrens is home to some notable attractions that interest both visitors and residents. The Four Seasons Country Club and Golf Course is found here, as is the historic Atwell Pecan Company, which has been a leading pecan and fine nut provider since the 1930s. There are a variety of specialty shops located in this community, including Orchards Gourmet Nuts Candies and Gifts, and other notable destinations include Perfect Touch Massage and Town and Country Beauty Salon.
Wrens is part of a humid subtropical climate zone. Winters are much warmer than other parts of the U.S., with high temperatures reaching the 50s or even 60s in January, the coldest month of the year. However, overnight lows can reach the 30s, and without a properly serviced heat pump or furnace in place, interior temperatures could become dangerously cold. Residents should also be sure to have their units checked out by an HVAC professional each autumn to ensure that they are working correctly.
Summers in Wrens are quite different from the weather during the rest of the year. It can be extremely hot and humid, with high temperatures reaching the 90s. Residents will need to have access to a safe place to cool off, and an energy efficient air conditioning unit can provide just that. Additionally, these systems can go a long way in reducing monthly utility costs.
